Before we even started this company, we witnessed first-hand how fragmented the whole landscape of ML tooling was and how inaccessible it was for non-technical users... We made it our goal to simplify the process of building AI applications and started out by building a tool that allowed users to collaboratively label data - colabel was born.
As we spoke with more and more users, it became clear to us that while there was value in simplifying data labeling, having labeled data was just a means to an end. The real struggle for users lied in what would come thereafter: Taking that labeled data to build an ML model, deploying that model, and integrating it into a business process while setting up mechanisms for edge case handling and continuous improvement.
As a consequence, our product has outgrown our name ever since: We went from a lightweight labeling tool to an end-to-end automation platform specializing in processes that include unstructured information – documents, images, and text data.
Our mission is to deliver the most user-friendly and easiest-to-use AI development experience in the world.
We do that because we believe that any knowledge worker should be in the position to automate any business process with AI, whether it's only for herself, a team, or the entire company. The only limiting factor should be anyone's imagination and process understanding, not technical abilities.
For us, this means to avoid typical AI-specific language and abstract all technical decisions involved to the highest possible layer, so that our users can make the best possible decisions without needing any knowledge about programming or AI.
With our rebranding to Levity, we are taking the next step towards making AI-development easier to use and accessible for anyone. We are also advancing our commitment to building software that makes the lives of our users easier and better, by freeing them from mind-numbing and mundane tasks. Levity lets you rise above them!
